Our Vision

Picture
South Aiken Presbyterian Church, dedicated to Jesus Christ and inspired by the Holy Spirit, will deliberately foster an inclusive, intergenerational congregation. We will extend revolutionary, Christ-Like hospitality to everyone we encounter, embrace diverse styes of worship, and utilize a tech-based relational outreach.

South Aiken Presbyterian Church’s Visioning Statement is the result of nearly a year of prayerful discussion and deliberation. Join us as we implement these four concepts in God’s calling for the life of our community of faith.

Inclusive, Intergenerational Congregation

During his sermons, Jesus welcomed the little children to come to him and encouraged all ages to follow him and worship the Lord together.

Each generation has its own unique gift that, when brought together with each other, allows the church to do God’s will effectively. SAPC works intentionally to celebrate these talents and encourage our oldest member and youngest member to connect with and learn from each other.
“We will not hide them from their children; we will tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord...”
- Psalm 78:4

Revolutionary, Christ-Like Hospitality

Jesus’ hospitality was revolutionary when he went against the status quo of the Pharisees and welcomed all to come to him.

By stepping out of our comfort zone and beyond the doors of our sanctuary, we welcome all - no matter their race, ethnicity, gender, or orientation - to worship Christ with us.

“He said also... ‘...do not invite your friends or your brothers and sisters or your relatives or rich neighbors, in case they may invite you in return...invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.”
- Luke 14:12-13

Diverse Styles of Worship

The Holy Spirit invites us to express our love of God with all of our being, in every aspect of our lives, and with complete dedication.

In this understanding, we aim to worship together with a variety of forms and encourage all of our members and visitors to connect with God in their own unique way through music, preaching, prayer, and other unique forms of worship. All of our members will exemplify their talents to the glory of God.
“O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord; bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day.”
- Psalm 96:1-2

Tech-Based Relational Outreach

Throughout his lifetime, Jesus travelled long distances to reach people where they were and bring the word to them.

In the same way, we understand the unique structure of our tech-based society. We connect to the next generation and reach out to people where they are, building meaningful relationships with all we encounter through modern technology and addressing needs near and far.
“Go (as you are going) therefore and make disciples of all nations...teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.”
- Matthew 28:19-20a
