Michelle Lorio

Director

I was born in Ohio but spent my formative years in Michigan and New Mexico as my family followed my father’s military career. I graduated from New Mexico State University with a B.A. in Government and Augusta State University with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. I have been married to my husband, Jamie, for 16 years. We have three children, Madelyn, Mason and Chase who fill every moment with joy, purpose and meaning. We are members of South Aiken Presbyterian Church. In my spare time (which there isn't much of with three small children) I enjoy traveling, reading, and playing outside with my kids. I am thrilled at the opportunity to serve as the Kindergarten Director and to be a part of the spiritual and academic growth of our students.

Assistant Director

I was born and raised here in Aiken.  I have a strong Aiken family history dating back seven generations.  At an early age, I discovered a love for working with children.  I began working in the St. Thaddeus nursery at eleven years old and babysitting for countless families.  In my teens, I was a ballet dancer with the Aiken Civic Ballet.  I have been working backstage with the children for Crosby-Miller Dance Studio performances for almost thirty years.  My greatest accomplishment has been raising my three children, Andrew, Jessica and Anthony Williamson. My oldest attended SAPK in 1992.  All three graduated kindergarten from SAPK.

I'm Mrs. Clark in the Multi-Age Class at SAPK.  I've worked at SAPK for around 24 years.  I have a wonderful husband of 33 years.  I have 4 children and 3 grandchildren.  Working at SAPK is really fun and you never know what the children will say.  SAPK has wonderful loving teachers.

My husband Andy and I have been married since 1996. We moved our family of three to Aiken in 1998 from Tennessee. We became a part of the SAPK family in 2001 when we enrolled our eldest son in a 3k class. As our family grew to 7, each of our 5 children attended SAPK. Throughout the years my role at SAPK has changed many times. I have been a parent, a substitute, a Parent’s Day Out Worker, Kindergarten Aid, PTO Volunteer and now a 3K teacher. I have always enjoyed working with little ones and knew that this is where God wanted me to be. I cherish getting to be a part of your child’s early education and can’t wait for another great year at SAPK.

I am so excited to be working at SAPK this year. I have worked in child care since 2002, and then once we had our own children I became a stay at home mom. I love being around children of all ages! My husband and I have been married for 9 years and we have two children, Alice and Charlie. We also have two dogs, Dave and CJ, and a cat, Regis. We moved to Aiken in 2013 from Greenville, SC. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, watching movies, being outside, and we love to travel. I look forward to a great year at SAPK!

My name is Mindy Hand and I am so excited to be teaching 4K at SAPK!  I have my elementary education degree with an emphasis in early childhood development and have many years experience in preschool and elementary schools from Boston to San Francisco.  Over the past few years I have substituted for teachers in the Aiken County School District.  I moved to Aiken six years ago with my family which includes my wonderful husband of 32 years and our son Charley who is currently a student at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.  We also have furry family members including three dogs and five cats which adds to our joys, comforts, and chores every day.  I believe teaching is a responsibility and feel God has blessed me by bringing me SAPK!

I was born and raised in California. I am fortunate to have traveled across the country throughout my service in the Air Force, beginning in Monterey, CA, and ending in Baltimore, MD. My husband and I moved to Aiken in 2012. We have two amazing children, Beatrice and Alex. We are members of South Aiken Presbyterian Church and our children attended SAPK, this is definitely our “home away from home.” I would describe myself as a maker and love using my sewing machine, my glue gun, and our growing collection of power tools. I have enjoyed volunteering in Children’s Church, teaching 5K science, and acting as a substitute teacher. I look forward to helping our 5K students explore their love of learning and aiding in their spiritual journey.

I am Alberta Johnson and I am so excited to embark on my first year of teaching 4K at SAPK!
My husband, Cliff, and I married in 1999 and we are blessed with three precious children (Traikon 16, Maryeli 11 and Elsie Mae 5) that fill our lives with purpose and bring us so much joy and love!   In addition to our children, we have two fur babies (Bailey and Adeline), who add to the frenzy, love and laughter in our home!  We enjoy riding our bikes, hiking, kayaking, swimming, family game nights, movies, roasting hot dogs and s’mores in our backyard, playing with our dogs, traveling, exploring, laughter, worship, fellowship and being with family!

My husband and I were born and raised in West Virginia and we still enjoy traveling those “♫ Country Roads ♫” back to “Almost Heaven” to see almost all of our family!  Life has allowed us the fulfilling experiences and adventures of calling Jacksonville, AL and Pueblo West, CO home.  In 2017, we felt God’s hand leading us to make our move to Aiken, SC with my husband’s work transfer and to call this our forever home. There is a piece of our hearts in every place we have called “home”!  We are grateful for it all and fortunate to be building our lives and raising our family here in beautiful Aiken!

I earned my Bachelor Degree with a Major in Education and a Minor in Psychology and I am also a licensed Real Estate Agent.  However, being a wife and mother are my greatest accomplishments!   I have worked in a variety of capacities, gaining a plethora of knowledge and experiences through the years!  God has paved the path for me to teach your little ones and I take this responsibility knowing that I am called to do so with the love and compassion He calls on us to exhibit as Christians.  I am honored with this opportunity and I look forward to a fun-filled year of learning and growth!

I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland but have lived with my family in Aiken for the last 30 years. My husband, Vince and I have been married for 37 years. We have five children ranging from 19 to 30.  All of them attended SAPK over the years. I have worked at SAPK in different capacities since 1997.  I have had the pleasure of working in PDO, substituting in all classrooms, being an assistant floater, and teaching a 3K class for five years. I’m looking forward to this coming year and having the opportunity to work with my 2 1/2 K class.
