Salt Shakers is an adult fellowship for breaking bread together and getting to know other members within our church. We add the salt of Jesus to our fellowship.
Kathleen Pearson: “When John and I moved to Aiken five years ago and began attending South Aiken Presbyterian Church,
we wondered how we would ever get to know people in such a large congregation. Joining the choir helped us become acquainted
with a number of wonderful people, and we were told about Salt Shakers. This fellowship opportunity has allowed us to get to know
many of our members, and quickly helped us feel an integral part of the Church”.
What is Salt Shakers? It is a group of people (6-8) who commit to meet together in homes or
going out for dinner once a month for four months. It’s a great way to meet visitors who want
to know more about SAPC, members that go to a different Sunday service or others that you
would like to know better. When attending a season or two there are wonderful friendships
that blossom. So…you are invited to start shaking the salt with other Christians and see
what wonders occur!
-
There will be a form in the bulletin to fill out and place in the offering plate for three weeks and then groups will be formed and you will be notified as to the other participants in your “Home” or “Out to eat” group.
-
It is suggested that the groups start in October and finish by the end of January.
-
Groups are generally limited to 8 and singles can participate too!
-
The groups are assigned, usually 3 or 4 couples, or 6 to 8 people, and they meet 4 times. The home groups meet until each couple has hosted the group and the out-to-eat group choose four different restaurants. It takes about 4 months to complete each session.
