Children’s Church

All God’s children are welcome in worship at South Aiken Presbyterian Church.

Children ages 3K-2nd grade are also invited to go to the nursery or Children’s Church following the Children’s moment.  Children’s Church is a time for children to participate in elements of the worship service in an age appropriate environment. Children’s Church is offered during the 11:00 worship services and are led by adult leaders, adult chaperons, sound engineers, and puppeteers. Children are escorted by chaperons to Fellowship Hall where they are ready to be picked up after the worship service by their parents. Elements of the worship service each Sunday include:

  • Gathering time
  • Call to Worship
  • A Prayer Song
  • Lord’s Prayer
  • Kid Friendly Song
  • Offering
  • Learn the Books of the Bible in Song
  • Doxology
  • Scripture Reading
  • Puppet Skit linked to the lectionary text or church calendar.
    Puppeteers are talented youth who are 6th grade and above and have been trained.
  • Reflection
  • Closing Prayer
  • Benediction
  • Activity surrounding scripture or church year themes

All adults have been screened, record checked and have participated in the Training Session.

When the congregation takes Communion all children who are baptized may also participate with their parent’s permission. Children who attend Children’s Church are brought into the sanctuary to participate in Communion during all Communion days which are the first Sundays in February, April, June, August, October and December.
