Secret Santa

Secret Santa of Aiken County launched its 23rd year in 2009 of bringing holiday cheer to the economically disadvantaged children of our community.  The program involves providing eligible children with up to three wrapped Christmas presents at a total value of about $30-40 from a “wish list” that each child has provided.  Eligibility of children is based on family need and low income.

South Aiken Presbyterian Church established the Secret Santa program in 1987 and continues to serve as its managing organization.  However, many other churches, civic organizations, and individual churches throughout the area (in the true spirit of ecumenism) sponsor children through the purchase and wrapping of gifts.  Frank and Mary Cunningham from SAPC serve as co-directors of Secret Santa and you may click here to learn how it started.

Since the program’s inception over 22,000 children have been served.  Christmas 2009 saw over 940 Aiken area children benefiting from the Secret Santa program.

The program starts up in early November of each year.  For more information call the Secret Santa Hotline at 649-7052.
